What´s happening at Global Great Hotels?
Introduction
A thorough investigation has revealed that timeshare investment scheme Global Great Hotels has been mis-sold for many years. Holiday makers were targeted whilst on holiday and taken to presentations at resorts primarily managed by Onagrup such as Ona Cala Pi, Ona Aucanada and Ona Garden Lago all located on the Spanish island of Majorca.
When they arrived at the resort unsuspecting holidaymakers were subject to high pressure sales, typical of the timeshare industry and were persuaded to hand over large sums of money. The promise of cheap (or even free) holidays plus an investment that would generate a substantial return for years to come has not performed as expected
All clients who signed up with Global Great Hotels investment package serviced by Onagrup are urged to have their contracts checked as serious issued have been raised and owners are now submitting claims for thousands. .(Bold writing) Great Global Hotels marketed their únits´as an investment in real estate, and they were not cheap to buy. The cost of the investment often reached the hundred or exceeded a hundred thousand pounds. These were marketed to normal holiday makers, not typically high value investors and they were encouraged to finance their investments by remortgaging their homes, cashing in their pensions or even borrowing from family or
friends.

Initially people were receiving payments from the supposed rental of the units they owned to other holiday makers, but these units carried the hefty cost of timeshare maintenance fees that were deducted from the profits they received. Unfortunately, the amount paid started to drop below what had been promised before stopping entirely.
Global Greal Hotels became difficult to contact and at the end of 2023 investors were told that the scheme had failed. Paragraph)
